Discover the subtle and intuitive power of yin yoga in this 30-hour training designed for yoga teachers and serious students wishing to explore the practice more deeply. Through a unique series of long-held, relaxing floor postures, yin yoga balances the nervous system, heals joint tissues and increases our capacity for experiencing calm and peace.
Through the study of the essential yin yoga postures, this training delves into the mechanics of the body and its subtle energies, plus their effects on the muscles and joints in different body types. Posture variations will be studied along with sequencing, propping and assisting and techniques for working with older students and those with limited mobility. The course includes an inspection of how the postures relate to the body's energy channels along with accompanying chakra meditation practices. Yang yoga will also be explored – this is the active, strengthening counterpart to yin yoga.
This course also addresses some of the deeper questions that arise in yin yoga, like how deeply a yogi should go, reactions to pain, and the many therapeutic applications of yin yoga.
Each day includes slide show presentations, discussion, interactive demonstrations, and experiential yin yoga and meditation practices.
